The sun shines bright in the old Kentucky home...

If you don't know that today is the 133rd running of the most exciting 2 minutes in sports, you really ought to get out of the office (or out from under the rock) more often. Attending the Kentucky Derby ranks near the top of things I would like to accomplish in my lifetime, and preferably when I'm still young and wild enough to have more fun than the Queen of England.
This year, I came close. Grandstand tickets were within my reach. But alas, the greatest spectacle in horse racing eludes me once again. But you better believe I'll be placing my bets this afternoon, watching the hat parade leading up to the race, and then cheering on my picks.
And without further adieu, my favorites from the field:
Win: Nobiz Like Showbiz (8-1)
Place: Street Sense (4-1)
Show: Tiago (15-1)
Although Curlin is also a favorite to win, I am betting against him. Tiago is the half-brother of 2004 Derby winner Giacomo (with the same owner and jockey). Even though I picked him to show, I'm hoping Tiago takes it all.
